Local Representitve

 As Local Representative (LR) of ESN KULBrussels, you are the official voice and connection between our section and the wider ESN network—both nationally and internationally. You’ll attend National Platforms (NPs), participate in key votes, stay informed about network-wide decisions, and ensure that ESN KULBrussels is aligned, heard, and empowered within ESN Belgium and beyond.


You will work closely with the President and the board to represent our section’s interests, relay updates from the national level, and contribute to the strategic direction of ESN as a whole. If you’re passionate about advocacy, networking, and contributing to a European student movement, this is your role.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the official representative of ESN KULBrussels at all National Platforms (NPs) and Local Representative meetings.
  • Cast votes and participate in discussions that shape the direction of ESN Belgium.
  • Report back to the local board and ensure implementation of decisions made at national/international levels.
  • Maintain close communication with the National Board and other LRs.
  • Encourage the section’s participation in national initiatives, campaigns, and projects.
  • Collaborate with the President on strategy, representation, and external relations.
  • Monitor compliance with ESN’s statutes, standards, and branding across the section.

Must Have

  • Strong communication skills and confidence in public speaking.
  • Interest in governance, strategy, and policy within student organizations.
  • High level of commitment and willingness to attend meetings and events (including travel).
  • Ability to summarize complex information and relay it clearly to the board.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

  • Previous participation in ESN events (local, national, or international).
  • Familiarity with ESN's internal structure and decision-making processes.
  • Strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with voting, reporting, or administrative duties.
  • Multilingual skills (especially French or Dutch).
