Treasurer

As Treasurer of ESN KULBrussels, you’ll take charge of the section’s finances and ensure responsible budgeting and financial transparency. From managing reimbursements and payments to preparing reports and funding applications, you’ll help fuel the section’s activities while making sure every cent is accounted for.


Your role is critical for the sustainability and growth of the section. You’ll work closely with the board and partners to plan budgets, manage expenses, and make informed financial decisions that support student events and initiatives. If you’re detail-oriented, responsible, and enjoy working with numbers—this role is made for you!


Responsibilities

  • Manage the section’s budget, bank account, and all financial transactions.
  • Process reimbursements and monitor expenses in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Create financial reports and present them during board and general meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with ESN Belgium’s financial regulations and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the board to plan, revise, and follow budgets for events and activities.
  • Handle invoices and coordinate payments with partners and suppliers. 
  • Assist in applying for grants, funding opportunities, and sponsorships.

Must Have

  • Strong numerical and budgeting skills.
  • High level of responsibility, transparency, and trustworthiness.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Ability to track deadlines and manage documents meticulously.
  • Interest in financial planning and student organization management.
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping or willingness to learn.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience managing finances in an association or student group.
  • Familiarity with Belgian banking or nonprofit financial procedures.
  • Knowledge of grant writing or financial reporting.
  • Multilingual skills (especially French or Dutch).
  • Experience with digital accounting tools or platforms (e.g., Odoo, Wave, Excel templates).
